Student Resources
Did You Know
17.8% OF GRADUATE STUDENTS EXPERIENCE SOME FORM OF FOOD INSECURITY ?
You are not alone.
Over the past several years, food insecurity and hunger have become a growing problem for students and college campuses across the nation.2 Between the cost of tuition, rent, and dealing with the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity is becoming way too familiar for undergraduate and graduate students. To help address the issue of hunger and food insecurity that graduate students face on UCI's campus - the Public Policy Student Association @ UCI and the UCI MPP Alumni Association have put together a list of some local resources to help ensure that no student goes to bed hungry.
Below you will find direct links to a few trusted local and state organizations and resources - along with descriptions of provided services. Please feel free to share these resources with any O.C. or California residents experiencing food insecurity and require further assistance.
Finally, we understand that every person and situation is different and that it might be difficult for some to reach out and ask for help. We are also aware that not every student is currently residing in California and might require additional resources specific to their current location. With that said, we are here to help each member with any individual needs or requests concerning food insecurity. If you require further assistance or would like to share additional resources with us, please fill out the form below or feel free to reach out to any PPSA board member.
